Since your call on relationships, I gathered the strength to end a year long relationship that was mediocre. After being single for close to twenty years I had been terrified to end it because I was coming from a place of scarcity and kept telling myself that I would never find perfect and it was good enough. "Hiya Niky! So guess what!?! The PICNIC Unstuck classes began to work even before each one took place!

Before the relationships class, I met a totally awesome man 18 yrs younger than me who really digs me. In fact, he refers to me as his "Dream Woman". The wierdest thing is, this is the most free I've ever felt to be me in a relationship! I confess, its been a topsy-turvy Rollercoaster ride for the past couple weeks. The crown jewel of this experience though, is that I've discovered how good it feels to be a queen of neutral either way yet strong enough to set boundaries effortlessly, with absolute confidence and honesty.

Also, my mom and I've been having an especially rough time for over a year. Then, out of the blue, she sends me a large birthday check I didn't expect. This stunned me! I can now do a pricey exercise class I've been really wanting to do!

Next though, she and I squabbled by text about property management issues. I felt really pressured to choose the worst choice she could present me with. I began to feel like a victim frozen stuck in our discord. In fact it almost slayed my great feelings about my new man and my birthday $. Luckily I recalled Niky Rey's story about getting neutral to scary, unknown odds, and determining to get a best result. The right words came to me and I  was able to set a boundary with my mom which she resentfully agreed to.

Wanting her to know I still have appreciation for her generosity despite our disagreement, I called her to thank her for my birthday present. Unfortunately, she took this as an opportunity to really rub it in that she was going to do it my way even though she was convinced that I was wrong and being what she considers typically crazy unreasonable. This constant argument where she presents me with illogical choices I refuse to make, is common. In fact it is the defining theme of our relationship.

I wasn't okay with even THIS result because she was making me out as the bad guy once again. But as Niky Rey said it, "free will is my birthright!" So I just kept to THAT feeling instead of feeling made a fool (my mom's control mechanism). Next thing I see, the downstairs tenant texts me with profuse apologies saying that I was right! So my mom ended up hearing the truth echoed from another source backing me up.

I'm like a newborn woman emerging from my contracted, stuck, stagnant identity. Expanding out of the shell of my lesser self, becoming my true expression of whom I truly wish to be... What a great feeling!

I just completed your most recent 33 day PICNIC course and wanted to send you my testimony.

When I started the course, I wrote in the PICNIC container that I associated having money with hard work. While growing up, I lived with my mom after my parents divorced. I saw my mom work two jobs just to have enough money for us. She was always tired and grumpy. I hardly spent time with her.

I just have to share my joy with you and so grateful you are here to share. I have entered my Son in the program – even so he didn’t want to know He has been in a rather dark place for the last 3 years, after his discharge from the Army – he had injured his back. Living on a Veterans Pension and in a very undesirable area – he was getting more and more depressed. I can’t tell you how worried I have been for him and so hard to watch him going down that road.
